"I have come to realize that the work we are all doing here is so important and so necessary. The fact that I get so much out of these retreats while helping these teens is a huge bonus. I am overjoyed to be able to participate and help when and where I can." ~Jenn, Volunteer
Expect to be inspired! There are many ways you can help the mission of Fearless Ministries, but the primary role is supervision staff/chaperones. Parents/guardians and clergy and religious are welcome to stay and volunteer at retreats as well. You do not need to be sporty, young, lively or even outgoing to be in this role. Your worldly experience, parenting skills or calm demeanor may be a vital aspect to the experience!
As an integral part of the spiritual instruction of Fearless Ministries, the Priests and Religious who give of their time and talents to provide Sacraments and support to the youth are an invaluable part of our team. We work with Diocesan Priests, Sisters of Life, CFR Priests, Brothers, and CFR Sisters, and many, many others.
Fearless Ministries is an environment where Catholic teens get to know those who have given their lives in the service of the Catholic Church. This exposure to religious life has already caused many of the same teens to consider religious life for themselves, many for the first time.
To participate as a priest or religious, please complete the Online Priest and Religious Registration form on the left.
1. If you are 18 years of age and older and have completed high school, you are eligible to be a volunteer. Complete and submit the Online Volunteer Application (left hand side of this web page.)
2. All new volunteers are required to complete the Authorization & Disclosure for Background Check form as required by the Archdiocese of New York (except priests and professed religious). You will need to view and print the form to sign and date it as electronic signatures are not acceptable. Once completed, you may either upload to the application or email it as an attachment to: [email protected].
NO NOT SEND YOUR DISCLOSURE FORM DIRECTLY TO THE ARCHDIOCESE, AS IT WILL NOT BE PROCESSED (sorry)!
The Authorization & Disclosure for Background Check Form references the Archdiocesan Policy on Background Checks and "A Summary of your Rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act". Also provided for your reference is the Archdiocese of NY Safe Environment Policy which we strictly adhere to during Fearless Ministries events.
3. Once your registration is approved, you will receive an email welcoming you to the team.
4. Training and orientation will be provided at the retreat site immediately before the event kicks off on Friday night. You will be asked to watch the "Safer Spaces" training video.
5. ALL VOLUNTEERS are required to read the Fearless Ministries Retreats Volunteer Guide. Please read it and print AND SIGN the Acknowledgement Form and email it to [email protected] or submit it at the retreat.
Complete and submit the Online Volunteer Application. The Archdiocese of NY requires an Authorization & Disclosure for Background Check Form be resubmitted every five years. You will be notified by email if this is required.
