“It’s been a few days for the depths of this past weekend to sink in! What an amazing experience. Your hard work and dedication for the youth of today is absolutely commendable. Clearly, it is well evident that your team is one that is blessed by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit!” ~ Theresa, Youth Ministry Leader
Invite, invite, invite! Consider making Fearless Ministries Retreats an aspect of your Confirmation preparation program or a way to kick start the faith of middle school students. (Note that the number of Confirmation Groups is limited per retreat. Contact us in advance to reserve space.)
Start out by visiting our EVENTS section to learn about upcoming retreats and events. We welcome young people entering 8th through 12th grade. Our downloadable marketing materials and easy online registration process make it a snap for busy parish staff!
We recommend you schedule a "sign up" event, either after Mass or at a large parish gathering, such as a religious education parent meeting or parish picnic. Some parishes distribute information via email mailing lists or on social media, as well. All of the resources you'll need are provided on this web page, including a handy checklist, bulletin/pulpit announcements, fliers, and posters.
If you are organizing a group of young people from your parish, simply forward a list of those intending to enroll from your church to Maggie Watkins at fearless[email protected]. Then, have each teen to enroll individually online before the retreat deadline. This enables us to get the needed parental signatures required. We will follow up with you to notify you who has left to enroll no later than two weeks prior to the retreat. Teens from your parish will come simply because their friends are coming! These teens will then return to your parish with a renewed sense of purpose, respect for authority, self-worth, and a desire to serve Jesus Christ. You will change the lives of these teens and the life of your parish community. If you are unable to organize a group, feel free to sign up on your own. For your convenience, you may download the "Getting your Teens to a Fearless Retreat Checklist".
Yes. Because of the size of our retreats, online pre-registration by the retreat deadline is required. Some parishes opt to collect paper registrations and then have a staff member enter the information. Some parishes host "Information Nights" for parents and register teens online during the course of that evening. Please note that due to the size of our retreats, we cannot guarantee space for walk-in registrations.
If possible, YES! Our retreats are made possible only through the generous presence of our incredible volunteers. In addition, the ultimate goal of Fearless Ministries is to inspire disciples to go BACK to their home parishes and evangelize! In our experience, parishes who send volunteers to our retreats continue to reap spiritual fruit long after the retreat ends. We make this process EASY for you!
One adult chaperone (18 years of age and having completed high school or older) is strongly suggested to accompany a group for every 7 participants of each gender. Volunteers are required to complete an online Volunteer Registration Form, submit to a background check process, and satisfy requirements of the Safe Environment Program. Fearless Ministries provides volunteer training on site immediately before the retreat Friday evening.
To your left, you'll find a host of materials that you may download and use freely for publicity! Announcements, fliers, and posters may be published in your bulletin, on your website or social media pages, on bulletin boards, or distributed via email. We strongly recommend you initiate publicity at least one month in advance of the retreat.
Please access our Retreat Policies here, or visit the Registration page.
Yes! We warmly weclome members of the clergy and religious orders to visit or volunteer at Fearless Ministries events. Please visit our volunteer page for information. Even if you plan to attend for several hours for confession or just to observe, it is great for us to know who is coming and going so we can plan accordingly.
It is recommended that students attend Camp Veritas prior to attending a Fearless Retreat. From our experience, we have found that the recipe of extended time away from the distractions of daily life has a powerful effect on teens' ability to embrace a life of discipleship. Many parishes who elected to send a group of students to Camp Veritas first and then follow up with Fearless Retreats have been pleased with the results. We would be happy to discuss ways you can make this a reality for your parish! However, if it is not possible for your parish to send students to Camp first, students may still register for Fearless Retreats!
We would be happy to speak with you about the possibility of hosting a Fearless Ministries event. If you would like information about what is required by way of facilities and personnel, please contact us at [email protected] or 484-320-7069.
